Hey Kids!
Dear Jonathon...
Dear Kid's Counsellor,
I get really mad sometimes. I can't help it. It's like something inside me gets really angry and I hit things and swear at people and stuff. It just comes out. I get yelled at all the time, but I don't know what to do. Can you help me?

Hello Jonathon,
You sound like a lot of boys who come to talk to me about their anger problems. It's pretty strong stuff isn't it? Someone calls you a name or looks at you sideways and you throw a wobbly and hit them in the face or punch a wall. Would you call yourself an angry person? Or are you a person who gets angry sometimes.
It is not wrong to feel angry as you have every right to be angry because you feel powerless, frustrated or disappointed. You can hold these feelings in or you can let them out by talking, crying, or sharing them with some one.
Anger needs to be expressed or it 'bottles' up and comes out in a way that might not be the right way. You can stop your anger cycle by finding ways to share your feelings instead of exploding when something doesn't go your way.
Anger is a normal emotion that every person feels. It is a source of energy and that's why it's so strong. Turn it into positive action like many people have and make a difference in your world instead of holes in your wall.
See you!
